In this map, there is a cluster of African Americans in southern North America. Also, there is a cluster in Las Vegas and in Los Angeles. There is very little African American population in the northwest US. Also, the population of African Americans spike in big cities such as Minneapolis, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. The mass of the population in the south ends in the middle of Texas. There is a bigger cluster in the northeast than there is in the west.
I hypothesize that after slavery had ended in the south, there wasn’t much work other than work in the south. The African Americans most likely isn’t know anyone to live with or anywhere to work in the north. After that generation had children and passed on, the new generation would most likely want to live with their family and in a very familiar area.
This cluster of African American population could result in different languages being spoken, poverty, and different job and education opprotunities. This could cause a higher or lower crime rate in the bigger cities. Surveys say that most of the African American population are democratic, so the south is very democratic.
